9/13/18 – UPDATE on storm preparedness: To our citizens, we unfortunately are not in the clear on Hurricane Florence, as 6 – 8 inches of rain are still expected to hit our area during the arrival of the storm the first of next week, which will cause the potential for river, stream flooding along with power outages. Everyone please prepare or keep preparing as before. We are still working closely with our local Fire and Rescue along with Rockbridge County Emergency Management. As soon as more information is available to us, we will update our page at that time.

Tuesday, September 11, 2018: 

To our Citizens of GoshenAs we prepare for Hurricane Florence to impact our area, please be proactive and start making preparations now such as; Have at least 72 hours of provisions to be self-sufficient, which includes: food, water, pet food, flash lights, batteries, any medications you may need, those on oxygen please have portable and extra tanks in case of power outages, keep cell phones charged, gas in all vehicles ( don’t forget fuel for generators if you have one) cash on hand as ATM and debit card machines will be down if power goes out. The Town is working closely with our local Fire Company and Rockbridge County Emergency Services. We will keep you posted as we receive information. Please stay safe!

Judging will be on Wednesday, December 21 between 6 P.M. and 8 P.M. Prizes : 1st Place $50.00; 2nd Place $25.00; 3rd Place $15.00; 4th Place $10.00 and Honorable Mentions.

The Christmas Parade was a success again this year! We would like to thank everyone who participated in the parade and to those who helped! If you have pictures of the parade, please share them on the Town’s Facebook page for everyone to see ! Below is the list of this year’s winners.




The Town of Goshen will be joining with other Town Organizations, Family and Friends in a Surprise 100th Birthday Celebration for our life long resident Mrs.Willie H. Ward.  The Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Camp Post at the Boy Scout Camp, Goshen, VA. at 2 P.M.

The Town has also declared that going forward, June 11 will be the official Willie Ward Day in the Town of Goshen.

Mrs. Ward has served the community all of her life, by teaching in not only Goshen Elementary School,  but by her commitment to her faith and church and the lives of so many that have been bettered by her presence, teachings, knowledge and kindness.

We thank Mrs. Ward for her life long dedication to our town and it’s residents and for her unselfish giving of her talents to enrich the lives of many others.






The Rabies clinic will once again be sponsored by the Raphine Animal Clinic at the Goshen Fire House, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Fire Department. The vaccines will cost $10.00 for cats and dogs and $18.00 for horses. Pets should be on a leash or in a carrier and owners should bring the old rabies certificate with them if they have it. All dogs and cats 3 months of age and older are required to have a rabies vaccination. The clinic for Goshen will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. and Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.


The Town of Goshen’s Christmas Parade was a huge success!  The Town would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all participants and spectators. Our thanks also, to the Goshen Branch Library for hosting pictures and refreshments with Santa after the parade!  We hope to see everyone and more next year!  Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year!

 18th Annual Rockbridge Area Community Cleanup! Saturday, March 21, 2012, join us in front of the Town Hall at 10:a.m. to organize and clean up around our Town! We encourage you to share in the spirit by doing work on the community date.  Please bring gloves.  Everyone welcome .  See you there 🙂

Buckingham Branch will be stopping at the Goshen Train Depot with Santa and the Marines for the Toys for Tots!   10:30 A.M.  Everyone come out and help support the Toys for Tots and visit with Santa!!!!!

Judging will be on Thursday, December 22, 2011 for the best Christmas decorations.  First Place winner will receive a $20.00 gas card.  Honorable mentions.  All of those on the Town’s public water system eligible .
