To the citizens of Goshen. While we do not want our residents to overreact or panic, we feel that sharing COVID-19 information with you is important to keep you all safe. Recently a COVID-19 case was confirmed in an individual that works close to the Town of Goshen and frequently stops at the local stores for shopping, he does not live in the Town of Goshen. We have received further information that a 2nd case was confirmed in an individual that works closely with the first individual and also frequently shops in the Town of Goshen. We are asking our citizens to please be cautious when going out, continue to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, wear masks, etc. to keep yourself and our community safe. We can prevent the spread of this virus in our community by practicing the above and by practicing social distancing. Thank you all in advance for continuing to practice safety for yourselves and others in the community. If you believe that you may have been exposed, please self-quarantine for a minimum of 3 days, until you are sure you are free of the virus. We are hoping to have a free testing site available in the Town of Goshen soon. Mayor McCraw is working closely with Rockbridge County in this effort and will continue to update you all through Facebook, the town website and public notices posted on the Town Office window and the Post Office bulletin board.
